Opportunities to get involved with public engagement and outreach

We're always looking for volunteers to help out with our outreach and engagement activities and our regional activities.

If you want to be notified of upcoming public engagement and outreach opportunities, sign up to the RSB Public Engagement Volunteering Opportunities mailing list. If you’re not a member or registered with our website, you will need to create a free mySociety account with your name and email address. You can then go to My Subscriptions to subscribe to the volunteer mailing list and a range of other free newsletters.

This year we will be taking hands-on biology activities to the following festivals and events. If you live near these events you can volunteer to help us by emailing your details to our outreach team.

Run an event with us

What's in it for your organisation?

  • Actively engage with the general public and school children to provide learning opportunities
  • Work together with other societies as part of the Royal Society of Biology and promote the discipline of biology to the general public
  • Interact with the media and promote your area of biology to the press
  • Promoting your area of biology and your individual organisation through these well respected, established events

Don’t have much time or money?

We welcome input at any level. This can be from suggesting a topic or a speaker who may be suitable, to organising an event. We aim to actively promote collaborations between organisations and support all Organisational Members, no matter what their budget or time restrictions, to engage with the public.
