Many of the challenges facing society are complex and cut across different sectors. They can best be tackled by different areas of science working together. The science policy team leads on much cross-sectoral working and actively wants to improve access to the biosciences.

Special Interest Groups

The team has established a number of groups working in specific sectors, that provide targeted resources and help to build links between academia, industry and the charity sector.

The Animal Science Group, along with the UK Bioscience Sector Coalition, brings together organisations that are involved in animal research across academia, industry and charities.

The Natural Capital Initiative is a forum for decision makers to explore how 'natural capital' thinking (the benefits we get from nature) can be embedded in policy and practice.

The Plant Science Group brings together the plant science community to develop a coordinated approach to policy and practice in research, industry, funding, education and outreach, wherever possible.
