Consultations
The Society invites and collates views from members, who work across the biological professions, in order to respond to open consultations. We seek to achieve a consensus of opinion and present a unified voice for the bioscience community. If you would like to contribute to a response, or draw our attention to other relevant consultations, please email us.
The policy team develops responses to consultations on behalf of the Society, on topics including access to academic research, guidance on animal research, plant science and the funding and commercialisation of research. Once published, consultation responses are uploaded to the website and to the RSB Policy Resource Library.
The Policy Resource Library is a searchable collection of documents available via the mySociety portal. The Library is accessible to both RSB members and non-members, and can be located when clicking ‘Policy Resource Library’ in the left-hand sidebar of the mySociety home page. Alternatively, for logged-in RSB members, the ‘Policy Resource Library’ button is available under the ‘Me and the RSB’ dropdown tab of the top bar of the mySociety home page.
Since 2009, the RSB has published over 200 policy outputs, covering a variety of topics. Find out more about the process of presenting our members’ expertise to policy-makers, and view a range of case studies showing the direct impact of our science and education policy work.
