Vote for biologists who have changed the world
- Details
- 16 April 2014
The Society’s Heritage Lottery Fund supported project focusing on the heritage of biology has launched a poll to find the top 10 biologists who have changed the world. 'Biology: Changing the World' is being delivered in partnership with BBSRC, and aims to celebrate the great biologists of the past and inspire those of the future.
As part of the year’s activities, 40 individuals from public nominations, existing commemorative plaques and historical figures of importance have been selected for the poll. The poll is open to members, supporters and friends of the Society of Biology, and the results will be released towards the end of May.
Voting in the poll will take place online, and we have provided further information on the 40 individuals.
Voters are invited to encourage their peers to support the scientist from their field by writing short blog entries championing their chosen individual. If you’re interested in writing a blog for us, contact the project manager for further information.
