The Society has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Southeast Asian life sciences association, BioSingapore. The collaboration means the Society and the Singapore-based group will jointly promote life science conferences and events. Individual members of both associations will also receive reciprocal benefits and mutual support internationally. BioSingapore was established in May 2004 as an industry association for life sciences businesses in Singapore.

According to the chairman of BioSingapore, Mr Simranjit Singh, “The collaboration between the two societies will strengthen BioSingapore’s twin objectives to encourage and foster Singapore’s bioscience enterprise. With the increased understanding that will evolve as a consequence of this co-operation, our organisations will seek to mutually promote both societies and further popular awareness, comprehension and support for the life sciences.”

Jon Kudlick, director of membership, marketing & communications at the Society of Biology, said: “This agreement presents a great opportunity for both organisations to collaborate on projects and ideas, to bring new benefits to our respective members, and to further promote the biosciences worldwide.”
