We are offering one lucky BioNet member the chance to spend a week at space camp. In partnership with the ISSET (International Space School Education Trust), we are sending one student to King's College London to take part in Mission Discovery; a residential space camp, including 4-night stay from the 15th – 19th July.

The winner will work with astronauts, trainers, scientists and NASA staff to learn what goes on behind the scenes at one of the world's top research organisations. As well as gaining key team building and leadership skills, they will also compete to have their idea for an experiment built, launched to the International Space Station and carried out in space.

Mark Downs, chief executive of the Society of Biology, says: "This is a unique opportunity for any aspiring astronaut or scientist to gain insight into first-hand biomedical research. We are delighted to be able to offer this experience and help a young person on their way to fulfilling their dreams and ambitions."

The competition is open to all BioNet members and students (aged 14-19) who aren't already members can be in with a chance of winning simply by signing up as a member for £5 a year. To enter, BioNet members (or students who have applied for membership) must email us at membership@societyofbiology.org, stating their full name and 'I want to go to space camp' in the subject line. There will be a prize draw from all entrants received.

Please be aware it is a residential place that we are sponsoring for the camp, however it is the responsibility of the individual (or guardian) to make travel arrangements to the camp and confirm eligibility.
