This year's theme is 'championing the success of BME early career researchers'

The Black Minority and Ethnic (BME) Early Career Researchers' (ECR) conference was founded by Dr Bernadine Idowu-Onibokun MRSB with the aim of equipping and empowering BME ECRs with the tools and skills required to remain and thrive in academia. Beginning in 2017, the conference has grown from strength to strength as evidence of its unique contribution to enhancing the wellbeing and professional lives of ECRs.

The 8th BME ECR conference will take place at the historic Queen Anne Building at the University of Greenwich, and is co-hosted by the University of West London. The conference aims to showcase the successes of BME ECRs, in addition to providing a space for networking, and resources to enable ECRs to progress and remain in academia, as such talent needs to be nurtured.

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable keynote address by Professor Marcia Wilson, Pro-Vice Chancellor for student experience at London Metropolitan University, a trailblazer in academic leadership and a champion for equity and inclusivity.

The day will also include a networking session, providing opportunities to establish connections and explore collaborations as a BME Early Career Researcher.
