STEM for Britain

The STEM for BRITAIN poster competition is designed to support and promote British scientists, engineers and technologists in the early stages of their careers. Many will become Britain's leaders in science and technology, and their work is vital for our economy. STEM for BRITAIN Awards are made on the basis of the very best research work and results together with their ability to communicate their work to a lay audience.

SET for Britain 2015

The final of the 2015 SET for BRITAIN event took place at the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House, Westminster on Monday 9th March 2015, sponsored by Andrew Miller MP, Chairman of the SET for BRITAIN organising group of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee. SET for Britain 2014

SET for Britain 2014 was held on Monday 17th March 2014 in the House of Commons Terrace Marquee. Andrew Miller MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, acted as host to scientists, engineers, technologists and (for the first time) mathematicians. During the course of the day the SET for Britain organisers were delighted to welcome 84 Parliamentarians from both Houses. Download the report.

 

SET for Britain 2013

The final of the 2013 SET for BRITAIN event took place in the House of Commons Marquee on Monday 18th March 2013, sponsored by Andrew Miller MP, Chairman of the SET for BRITAIN organising group of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee. More details on the SET for BRITAIN website.

 

 

SET for Britain 2012

The Parliamentary and Scientific Committee ran the SET for Britain 2012 in collaboration with the Society of Biology, The Royal Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Chemistry, The Physiological Society, the Wellcome Trust and the Society of Chemical Industry.

Young scientists presented posters about their research to MPs and expert judges at the House of Commons. There was a 2 hour judging session for the biological sciences included posters on topics as diverse as treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy and disease in British birds. Biologist receive top prize at SET for Britain.
