Join the RSB North Western branch and SeaLife Centre Blackpool to celebrate World Octopus Day
World Octopus Day is celebrated on 8th October every year to recognise the intelligence, adaptability, and diversity of octopuses. You can find out more about the history of Octopus day, and interesting facts about octopuses on the

The RSB North Western branch has collaborated with SeaLife Centre Blackpool to celebrate World Octopus Day with talks from experts, and a tour of the facilities.
There will be a variety of talks throughout the evening by:
- Mark Woombs - Octopus vulgaris and its relatives
- Mike Clapham FRSB - Sight and disguise
- Scott Blacker (Head Aquarist) - Octopus in aquaria, ethics and welfare
Tour
During the event there will be a tour of the displays conducted by SeaLife staff, including species of tropical and temperate seas, freshwater and marine environments, vertebrates and invertebrates, including the star of the night, Octopus vulgaris.

This event is open to adults with the below booking fees, which include the wine/ soft drinks and cheese refreshments during the evening.
