Find lots of different kinds of Fungi and discover their stories in the Surrey Hills.

Attendees will venture on to Sheepleas, an ancient woodland rich in ancient fungi, led by Sara Shepley to spot fungal fruiting bodies.

Once described as ‘the finest piece of botanical and entomological ground within 30 miles of London', attendees are encouraged to wander Sheepleas, see what they can spot, discuss what they are and whether they're edible (but not to try them!).

Directions

Attendees are to meet behind St Mary's Church, postcode KT24 6AP.
From Guildford: take the A246 towards Leatherhead, past West Horsley and Cranmore School, turn down the small lane past St Mary's Church.
From Leatherhead: go through East Horsley on the A246, the church will be to the left, before the turning for West Horsley.
