As part of a new partnership, the Royal Society of Biology and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme exploring the breadth and depth of the biosciences and to bring to life the importance and relevance of work in this field.

Addressing Global Challenges will highlight how the biosciences relate to global challenges of today and tomorrow, and give those within these specialisms the opportunity to tell their stories.

With the rapid pace of discoveries and breakthroughs within biosciences, the potential of the field is colossal, and this programme will showcase the achievements taking place that will resonate globally.

The programme will capture the innovations and revelations at the forefront of scientific endeavour, as well as the practical applications that these breakthroughs will have for this generation and the next. It will tell the story not just of the science but of biologists themselves across the breadth of sub-disciplines.

The news-style piece will be anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky to combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations, with its premiere date set for Biology Week 2018.
